Jacqro Farm is a 2.5-acre farm located in Paradise, California. We are committed to growing the finest poultry and heirloom produce possible, using humane, environmentally sound techniques.

Pastured, Organically Fed Chickens

• Our chickens have acccess to pasture all day every day. Not only is this a more humane way to raise chickens (and a very effective way to develop fertile, productive pastures!), it also means that the chickens exercise more, and have a more varied diet, which makes for a better tasting bird.
• The chickens we raise are bred from classic Burgundian and Breton varieties. As well as being energetic foragers, and growing well on pasture, they are slower growing than the Cornish crosses usually used for commercial broiler production. Slower growing birds are slightly costlier to raise, but they suffer many fewer health problems and produce a fuller-flavored bird with a better texture. The variety we raise has been used with great success for many years in Europe to meet the exacting Label Rouge standard.
